If you ever wanted proof that Pentax USA does not have a clue, just watch this video.

Here is a hint Pentax - hire actors to present your stuff. Having regular employees do your video makes it look like you are either cheap or broke, neither of which is an attractive proposition to your potential customers. At the very least, tell the guy to shave before you shoot the video.
you are right... it looks like he is wearing a fake goatee and a wig...

Because having Ashton Kutcher hawk Nikons and Kevin Spacey sell Olympus Pens worked out well? Some of these criticisms of Pentax are a little absurd. The dude has a well trimmed goatee - there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, no Quick Shift, no distance markings, no lens hood... slower maximum aperture than competitors... krap.

I'm holding out for the tests.
If it beats my lowly K 35/3.5, I'd be more than happy to grab one as an alternative.

It is 6 elements in 5 groups with SP. It is a slowed down FA 35/2 with the addition of SP and plasti-mount and minus the aperture ring.

IT is spec'd for these hoods: Plastic Square-edged Spring Type (PH-SA49) Rubber Round Shaped Threaded Type (RH-RC49)

Ugh. And here I was hoping I'd have more options after this announcement.

K35/3.5 is the one of the best 35 mm from Pentax.

I thought that at first, but I'm not so sure that it is not a DA L.
