Well if high-level is full format, then there is only mid-level and entry-level now at pentax (forgetting the 645d for a moment). Entry-level weather-proof DSLR would be a lot of people's wet dream, but the additional cost to make it would defy the purpose of entry level! And how many mid-level dslrs are weather-proof anyway?

I just hope they remember to drop the price of the k-r before making it the entry model, my bank account would really appreciate that.

There doesn't have to be that kind of delineation between the models just to fit the camera hierarchy.
The K-x and K-r are entry-level cameras - that's all there is to it. Their market is in the newbie and discerning enthusiast looking for compactness and decent speed. The K-7 and K-5 are not at the caliber of a Canon 1D or even 5D, so they too wouldn't be high-end models, with or without the 645D. This doesn't mean they're not designed for pros but it's clear that the pros go for the more capable cameras, and that's what they find in the likes of a 5DMkII, D700 or even D300.
