According to some, it wasn't just a camera but rather a complete paradigm shift. I guess if you can't build SR into your cameras then you may as well shake the ground that people stand on.

My FA77 doesn't give a rats ass what Nikon is doing, it's too busy doing it's job. You know, taking beautiful pictures...

PS - Gawan is right...if it was news about D700 replacement I would have paid some attention

Only if you care about the business Pentax is in.

+1. Or more.

The "Pentax must be successful for us to be successful" explanation is trite in the extreme - but true.

I would have written "self-evident" - but reading the forum a bit shows that's clearly not the case.

My only major complaint about the interest in the Nikon D7000 is this -- ideally as a Pentax user I should feel excited about the release of info about the Pentax K-5. Now I find myself sort of dreading the inevitable string of posts bemoaning what the K-5 doesn't have compared to the D7000. I can understand for people on the fence why these endless debates may be interesting and relevant, but for me I'd only be interested in Nikon if I was going to invest in full frame, so it's just a bunch of clutter to sort through.
