first time i've seen a pentax dslr brochure describe fast moving subjects explicitly.

AF must be really good!

"allowing the photographer to preserve sharp, crisp images of active, fast-moving subjects — such as sports players, stage performers and wildlife — with great ease."

now, where's that credit card
Not sure if the AF will be this good but it looks as if Pentax now HAS a marketing department!

So I was right about the specs
The ISO range The FPS speed of 7 FPS
The resolution
The Autofocus system SAFOX IX+ with 11 points
Movie recording in Full HD 1920x1080 with 25 FPS.
PB... nice one. thanks.

This sucks:

Bulb mode: long exposure to ISO 1600

That probably means we still have forced DFS etc.

No more DFS

From the first specs it looks like we can disable DFS!

"Extended-exposure NR (Noise Reduction) function, with a choice of Auto, On and Off modes"

I didn't see that but why limit bulb to 1600 if the noise is better?

all of the above mentioned may not be true after all....

The press kit is full of errors and I'll have to verify a number of other details first. E.g., I doubt that the camera ships since June 2009

For now, the most reliable info are from the Italian video, at least they have the camera in hand.
I'm impressed by the shutter sound, it sounds even better than the quiet K-7.

It would have been even worse if they'd moved it!

The above article states that they done away with the A/D converter, resulting in extremely low noise levels???
That doesn't make sense. What they mean (but not write) is that the A/D converter(s) are on-chip, thus avoiding the introduction of noise between sensor and converter.

BTW, the 18-135 lens is f/3.5-f/5.6.

Does anyone know if the autofocus assist spotbeam in low light is any different than the K-7's?
