Do you think the top of the line model should carry the AA battery option? the option in the grip is the right place to put it; it is more important to share the same grip and battery with the k-7.
Look at the K-r design - completely satisfied those who wants dedicated battery and those who wants AA. Why is that 'top of the line camera' should not use AA?
.... sad, if it is like K-r battery design, K-5 will surely on the list to replace k200.

Sounds like a draft of a factsheet to me...
But, if the ISO numbers are correct that a great spec to whack Canikon over the head with!!
I am happy to see that base ISO will be 100, not 200 as reported in an earlier rumor.
I was hoping for 8 fps, but I guess there is no real difference between 7 and 8.
I will be satisfied if these specs are confirmed on Monday.

Cheers, everyone!

May as well go for the 5...

Hell.. not sure why I am even feeling a bit let down... it's an improved k-7, what else do I need.

A beer... thats what.

Cheers to you tupelo!

The 51.2k iso is very interesting to me for some strange reason.

It's easy to be satisfied if you are K110D owner.

Oh now, that's hardly fair! The K110D isn't bad in some situations, but it's cumbersome compared to my Minolta X-570. The K110D was gotten cheap and nearly new as a way to get comfortable with a digital SLR, and yeah, now I'm ready to move up to a real piece of equipment!

(Yeah, and I know you don't care about my life story - I'm just sayin'...)

Thats what I was thinking (not that it means much... )
I rarely go into the forbidden area of my k-7 ... that really did not come out sounding the way I wanted it to

But if I am going to pick up a second body.. may as well get a k-5. not going to rush out.. well unless I hear something monday. .

I want to bitch and complain! thats what you do on a forum right?
but how can I be upset about a ... well... a slightly better k-7?

Yeah, exactly.

I doubt that 51,200 is anything more than the 25,600 that the chip puts out for other brands pushed another stop via software.

Yeah, they should just totally rename "Extended ISO" to "Forbidden Area". That would be rad!

And ISO25,600 from all makers are just 12,800 pushed via software.

The "upper limit" of any extended ISO is the individual makers saying "we can produce acceptable images through software image processing up to this ISO". If Pentax is saying then can do 51,200, while the others are saying 25,600 is the upper limit, that is potentially a good thing.

Or else it's just "oh crap, we have to do something to differentiate our product!"

I try not to be cynical, but ISO 51,200 is pushing my suspension of disbelief.

I was amazed by the k-7. It caused me to change systems. I doubt I am that amazed that much by the k-5. but like said earlier, An update to the little bastard I have next to me.. I can live with it.
I can appreciate it.

Would I love them to come out like jimi hendrix and put everyone to shame. . hell yeah.
we all pick our feudal lords.. even if we do not realize it.

But its ok, the k-7 has taken more walks with me than my childhood dog.
he left me (old age).. pentax is just making me another camera.. and a bit better.
