One source gave me 50-25,600 so well it was technically correct lol. But 51,200 is a big shock.

7-8fps range was that I was told to, so that was close.

I was given 18 focus points, but that turned out to be wrong so lol, but another one has passed me on that the new AF is a MAJOR improvement over the K-7 and a whole new module.

Im really disappointed with the lack of dual SD and the 1/80 sync speed but oh well.
Did I miss something? Who confirmed, that k-5 will be with only one SD card slot?

Initially I was told the K-5 to have Dual card slots, this came from one source a while back and from a recent source.

However from what I've read and from another source who's gotten a first hand report of the K-5, its only 1.

Yes I do 'know' for sure it is just 1 SD slot, there is no mentioning about more SD slots in the factsheet anywhere.

That's not very credible, the K-r has a 12 frame RAW buffer (the K-7 buffers 15 frames in RAW, I think).

And the K-r does 999 frames in interval shooting.
maybe 8 RAW in 14 bit mode?

but why no 12 bit mode?

but didn't you also say there appears to be a conflict between the brochure and fact sheet re the safox version?

doesn't sound as if the info being put out is totally straightened out yet.

Same D-LI90 accu as in the K-7.
And also same Battery grip the D-BG4, with the option to use AA batteries in the grip.

Well I just think that is just a typo about the SAFOX version.

Something's amiss.

The top LCD doesn't look like it can support ISOs with 6 digits, as 51,200 would require.

ISO12,800 also requires 6 digits, and it would be unthinkable for the K-5 not to be able to do that. They'll find a way to display the info ;-)

The difference between K-7 and K-5 is very small.
Just new sensor....D7000's fans could be delighted with such info...K-7's users too.

5.2 vs 7 fps
HD video vs Full HD...
14.6 vs 16.2 MP

Hmmm....Such camera MUST has price not above $1200.

A quote from the dpreview topic I made:

QuoteQuote:
here is the math...
16.3mp vs. 14.5mp = 11% decrease in buffer size compared with the K-7
14bit vs. 12bit = 14.3% decrease in buffer size
and finally
7fps vs. 5.2fps = 25.7% decrease in buffer fill time assuming the buffer is the same size as on the K-7
so take your 14 shot RAW buffer of the K-7 and do the math
14 x 0.89 x 0.857 x 0.743 = 7.9
Quote is from MightyMike, thanks to him for this calculation !

That means the K-7 L-Plate will match as well, that's good

Do you think the top of the line model should carry the AA battery option? the option in the grip is the right place to put it; it is more important to share the same grip and battery with the k-7.
