Pentax K-5 Officially Announced

I think ADam know something that we dont know. Probably an improved K-5 with the new Prime M engine. What about the name K-5M . I know Adam will not answer if this is true

What about a K-3 with 24mp Sony sensor, Prime M AND the hybrid 100% OVF/EVF that has been discussed here on several occasions? I'm already reaching for my credit card...

This camera will be a total fail. Crippled Live View. Missing manual control of video. And it's got this bulbous bump on the top and fragile moving bits inside! And no color options? Plain black is just that - plain.

If Pentax would slim this camera down by just 15%, shave down that bump on the top, implement better Live View, provide full manual video mode, and offer some color options they'll have a definite hit on their hands!

Heehee. I noticed they did in fact go back to something like the older lettering font, which I'd always thought would be nice. Does look pretty sharp, I think.

Also, the sort of 'Super Program'-like color scheme is still very handsome, though if it were for me, I wouldn't be looking for anything that flashy. Or at least that's what these remind me of. I thought the same at the time, 'This looks really nice, but it'd be basic black for me, thanks.'

hello Pros,
How is the K5 DSLR similar to the SF1 SLR in Lens interchange from SLR to DSLR. Is it possible? As my SLR does not work , was hoping to still find a digitals that can use the lenses I have. Please advise, as I have read the product information, claims interchangeable but interchangeable with all Pentax lenses? Want the opinions from this group, Thank you very much, Sue

as the sf1 is k-mount all your lenses will work on the K-5.
some old lenses (3rd party mainly ricoh) have the ricoh pin and need to be handled separately.

due to sensorsize difference your lenses will appear 1.5x longer 35mm->"50mm"...
