On this one I agree with you. Pentax cancels the three best lenses they make and they offer a cheap plastic zoom. It looks like unless you are in the 645D category Pentax is no longer a good fit for prime lens users. Canceling the FA Limiteds was the final straw for me. I had saved diligently for the last 12 months and was going to purchase all three to compliment the DA 15-70mm I own.
1. The FA Limiteds will still be available for some time to come, cancelled or not. Go ahead and buy them. Why not?
2. There's no real confirmation that they've been cancelled.
3. Chill out.

I've been saving for over a year for those a little every month (trust me Park Ranger salaries are very low.....) I wanted to get them as a set like I did with the DA Limiteds. Oh well... It would take me to December/Jan. to have the right amount. I used the $ I had saved for that to put the Sony stuff on pre-order from Adorama. I just hate to stay with Pentax if all they are going to offer going forward is zooms. I just don't like using zooms, but that's me. I will caveat that by saying I like the Sigma 10-20mm. I got that Tamaron 17-50mm last year. I used it twice and put it on the shelf. Zooms and me just don't work out.

All of this is assumption, though, until something official is announced. In fact, Pentax just released another prime (one prime, one zoom at photokina).

Have a look at my sig... I don't exactly love zooms either. :P

BTW- Your photos are very good. I've applied for a position at Franklin Mts near El Paso. It's kind of the best of both worlds. The mountains for outdoor and El Paso/Juarez for street photography. Do you like the Panasonic? I absolutely love that E-P2. I use with the Panasonic 20mm which is a really great lens.

Have a great day!! I'm on way out town camping.

Last one before I go. I noticed. :-) I'll probably get that 35mm and keep the KX or K7 to put it on. It'll make a nice compliment to the E-P2/ Panasonic 20mm.

I just don't get the super zoom thing. To me it's like you can't decide what kind of photography you want to do. I guess I would just rather zoom with my feet and change lenses when necessary. I usually go out with the K7 15mm or 21mm, 35mm, Voigtlander 58mm, and 70mm. That pretty much has me covered.

Ok the dogs are getting restless. The saw me load the tent up this AM and have been pacing by the front door for an hour.

If I decide to go ahead with the sale, email me if you want a list of some of the primes. I have Kiron Dine, Panagor 90mm (great lens), and Takumar 85mm F1.8. I would really like those to go to a home that will appreciate them.

I like the Panny a lot, actually. Combined with the 20/1.7 it's a great street shooter. I have no urge to buy any more lenses for it... it's essentially a really high-quality point & shoot as I use it.

I might replace it with the Fuji X100, but we'll have to see.

Are we restricted to one sort only?

Sorry to resurrect such an old thread, but I'm looking for original sample images with this lens (either PEF, DNG or JPG) and the original PEF links posted here are now defunct.

Could someone post (or repost) an original unedited image from this lens?

TIA

- Phil

De focusring is de smalle ring die voor de brede zoomring zit gerekend vanaf de k-vatting.

I just removed those images two days ago. I am not going to put these images back because I think there are a lot better 18-135 images in web now.
