What is that horizon detection balance? Was that on the K-7?
That was already on the K-7. The nice "cockpit view" balance indicator is only there since the last K-7 firmware update. However, the K-7 does not have a tilt indicator, the K-5 does. So it can now correct for roll & tilt

No SDXC option? Bummer.
Who is right when neither source makes much sense?

SDXC card compatibility is available via a firmware upgrade, and the Pentax K-5 has a customizable RAW/Fx button.

So infosync world says price is $1600 for body and $1750 for body+lens. It is so tempting to spend less money and get a 7D at that price. Or save even more and a D7000. Those prices hopefully aren't right.

I love how they insinuate that big spenders will only buy "real" cameras that support SDXC... really no point in reading tech blogs for camera reviews since all they do is look at the specs and try to match feature for feature...

From Falk's report from Photokina. Actually, isn't it $200 more than the Nikon D7000? Anyway, it's better than $1,600:

The price hints at a US list price of $1.399,- which is only $100 more than the D7000.

That would mean the D7000's MSRP is 1299. However, B&H and Amazon already list the D7000 at 1199. It would be nice if the K-5 was 1299 street price, rather than the 1399 MSRP.

I think they're more implying that SDXC cards are frivolous expenditures in today's tech world.

But the startingprice of the D7000 was usd 1499,00 with lens.
And that is only 18-105 and not sealed. If you are told to "get out and shoot"no matter what weather, the K-5 + kit is better value. Pop on the 24-70 and you do have a very nice kit I guess at , but no VR and you are looking at about $ 2900,00.
