The Nikon trinity is indeed something special! I'd love to be able to put my ltd trio on FF camera But if Pentax won't come up with something good and fast under 31 I'll have to buy FA*24....

A DA* 20mm or 24mm f1.4 (or f2) is more than needed! It should also have 9 rounded blades and very fast af.
I used to go for DA*30/1.4 but I will settle for a D FA31/1.8 LE WR
But the bottomline is, pentax should ass a sealed wide fast prime, I have been annoying people for this on various forums for years now.

I used to have a FA* 24mm f2 but sold it because I wasn't happy with it's performance (corners)...

Very good from f/4 and cool at f/7.1-8.

Would be nice for a 55-300 WR, but I have at least two other lenses I need to get first before I can buy that one, so I can still wait it out a bit.

Mine was quite similar to the one tested by photozone. The corners are disappointing for a * prime, and even more if you look at it's current price.

Very high contrast from wide-opened compensates the resolution and the picture looks good. My advice: don't use f/2-f/5.6 for landscapes.

As for photozone test...I use lens for everyday use, not for tests.

You seem to have missed my post saying "I used to have a FA* 24mm f2 but sold it because I wasn't happy with it's performance (corners)...".
Oh wait, you didn't because you even quoted it... but then why are you posting this?

Unfortunately, I think so. Oh well too bad. We will just have to keep waiting. I guess I might have been more upset if I actually had some money.

As nice as the 18-135 is, and as much I like the new bodies, I'm disappointed. I was expecting a 55-300 WR

They have a 60-250. Unlikely Pentax will cannibalize sales of one for the other. I may be proved wrong eventually (hopefully) but I do not see that now. Do other brands have a WR 55-300 or equivalent?

The 60-250 and 55-300 are very different lenses. The 60-250 is constant f/4 and has SDM AF. The 55-300 is f/4-5.8, and screw-driven AF.

By your reasoning, the DA18-55WR and DA50-200WR would not exist either, for fear of cannibalizing sales of the DA*16-50 and DA*50-135 ?
