Very disappointed by Photokina's lens announcement...

A DA* 20mm or 24mm f1.4 (or f2) is more than needed! It should also have 9 rounded blades and very fast af.

let's wait until Tuesday but if DAL35/2.4 and DA18-135WR DC IF is all they came up with then I'm in your club....
and agree on the fast wide! Heck even 24/2.8 would do...

I don't think we'll see any more lenses released, but we may still get an announcement, or at least an updated roadmap, of things to come.

My a*400/2.8 is looking better every day. I already have a 35/2 and da18-250 so couldn't give a rats butt for the new releases. I wish Pentax would publish thier strategy on lenses so we would know if any longer ones will EVER be released. But I guess its asking too much to worry about customers instead of competition.

Yeah, if these two lenses (even if there is another version of the 35/2.4) are the only ones, then it would be a HUGE disappointment indeed.

WR??? If you need WR visibility will most likely be so low that even the DA*300 is useless.

Oh I'm very aware of that... and might buy the new Nikkor 35mm f1.4 and the D700 successor if Pentax don't announce a DA* 20mm or 24mm f1.4 (or f2) or a full-frame camera (would LOVE to use the FA 31mm Limited with it!) by the time it's out.

Same here, the 31 Limited on FF would be a near permanent combination.

When I shot film, a 28 Biogon was my favorite all around-er FL - so ....

Call me sarcastic or realistic: Pentax will come out with Limited lens in COLOR and road-map with nothing but color of your wazoo choices and toy-r-us custom lens.

Please don't flame me as I am as disappointed as ever with Pentax. They get nothing on SDM improvements. And there is no warranty improvements. Things break at 13 months are nerve wrecking for Pentaxian buying any SDM lens. And of course, they will listen to our complaints on screw drive backup. Yes, they listen on more wazoo color choices, see the beautiful 35mm f/2.4.

Shouldn't we get real on our expectations from Pentax -- all their lens guys may have gone in retirement. And Hoya may have hired the cheapest but brightest interns and off-shore to color code their limited lens from Vietnam

Hin
