K-5 Live view hands-on AF testing (video)...

I'll just sum this up with the following question:
Can your K-7 do this?

Wow, and I thought the latest K-7 firmware had improved the contrast AF speed.

Anybody know which lens was used ?

BTW, anyone else notice that "double-clic" on Ok to return to center AF point ?

It is impressive. LV and video have suddenly become usable features.
RB, yeah I noticed the way the AF point was used and returned to the center. Very good design. One thing, Pentax ergonomics/menus and controls are some of the best in the industry. This camera seems to have raised that bar even higher.

Well here's the best part.
I was playing with my D700 this morning and I think the K-5 is actually faster in LV AF than the D700!
In fact, I'm going to go as far as saying "it almost certainly is"
But it's impossible to say without having both camera's in the same settings.

That is quite impressive, I am also curious what lens was used! If that is going to be the expected performance from the kit lens (either 18-55 or 18-135), the proposition of using some of the faster AF lenses is very good. I wouldn't hesitate to say that AF rivals either of my Oly Pens, despite being what would be considered by many a secondary feature.

Suspect 50-135 lens based on camera data in bottom left

BTW
My K100D is now looking rather old

Still takes beautiful photos though
And that's what counts

I think you are right.
I posted three video's from this channel in another thread and the caption generated by the forum script translated to 8fps as well. Looks like it was edited just recently.
