K-5 already below D7000 in Norway

It started out about $130 above the D7000, but now I see that Japan Photo has dropped the price to NOK 9990 - that's NOK 209 (USD 35) below the D7000.

I found following prices for the K-5 in Finland:

Pentax K-5 + 18-135mm WR 1449.00 €
Pentax K-5 + 18-55mm WR 1249.00 €
Pentax K-5 body 1149.00 €

And for the D7000 in the same shop:

Nikon D7000 body 1149.00 €
Nikon D7000 + 18-105 mm 1399.00 €

So exactly the same price for K-5 and D7000 bodies. And K-5 + 18-135 WR is only 300€ more than K-5 body only.

I think that I'll get in Europe K-5 for about ~ 1000 Eur. with all discounts, same as K-7 when they started to sell it

In Croatia its announced for 1824.48 $ with the kit lens... bare in mind, we pay 23 % VAT, so it's a good offer I think

It's good the Yen has been dropping against the USD in the last few months. Part of the reason in the increased prices of Pentax products was the rise of the Yen vs the USD.

That means USD 1325, K-5 body only (as Norwegian price includes 25% VAT). Norway is generally one of the most expensive countries there is.

Or maybe a for those of you not living in Norway...

D7000 vs K5 prices

I hope prices will low here in Spain a bit more in
a short time:

According to some online shops:

D7000 = 1165 € (D7000)
K5 = 1199 € (as mentioned above),

But at B&H, I've found this: B&H D7000 - K5 Prices

According to price search engine idealo.de the cheapest D7000 is 1099€ whereas the cheapest K-5 is 1599€. Both body only.
But let's wait till both cameras are actually in stock and selling.

From amazon.co.uk

Pentax K-5: £1129.99 (shipping from Oct 18th)
Nikon D7000: £1099.99

No too bad. Strange about US-prices though.

The Japanese banks have started to try and push the Yen down, this might be the reason.

Oddly enough, the pre-order price is $1599 in both the US and Canada. With the exchange rate, that means it's cheaper to pre-order from Canada... for once!
