But the Fuji X100 and Sigma SD1... well, those two have me on needles I have to say... the only problem with the Sigma is that I won't be able to get line up as good as FA ltds....
hmmm.... actually you can build a decent lineup with the Sigma with their own lens lineup.

zoom lenses
Sigma 8-16
Sigma 24-70 or Sigma 17-50
Sigma 50-150
Sigma 70-200
Sigma 100-300
Sigma 50-500

prime lenses

Sigma 30/1.4
Sigma 50/1.4
Sigma 70/2.8
Sigma 85/1.4
Sigma 150/2.8
Sigma 180/3.5

etc.... of course you can do your own combo

probably spending a 5k lens budget for it with the ff. but my priority list would be,

Sigma 8-16 =700
Sigma 24-70 =900
Sigma 100-300 =1,000 ; or Sigma 120-400 =900

Sigma 28/1.8 =350
Sigma 50/1.4 =500
Sigma 85/1.4 =900
Sigma 180/3.5 =700

total = approx. 5000. not bad.

I could see sigma really kicking some goals by developing some sort of multimount adapter that fits on their SD1 and allows use of canikon/pentax lenses! Wouldnt that be something?!
The sensor would probably be on some sort of rail to adjust for the focal distance?

Retro, sure, but not rangefinder-retro. Pentax never made a rangefinder.

not bad idea...
but I would go for:
12-24 + 28 + 50 + 85.
Still, not sure if I'll do it...

it's actually rather funny that only one prime lens in sigma's line up ends in 5 - [85mm f/1.4]

but pentax did produce a 43mm f/1.9 limited in Leica M mount.

I too love the idea of the X100. Fujinon lenses are absolutely incredible.

I don't have a big issue with Pentax sticking to APS-C, sure I have the Canon 1DsMKIII,Nikon D3 and Leica M9; But the Pentax K-7 I have has done very well for itself, it's small, quick and capable. The FA limited lenses I use on it beat the hell out of their equivalent lenses in other mounts, and match anything that leica has produced so far.

Wow, Digitalis, that's quite an assortment. Kinda adds weight to your statement:

Yes, and it's the only one particular lens that Pentax lacks right now.

and this is exactly the only reason why I want FF Pentax!
I'm not sure if I like the way they go but looking at the lenses they have produced in the past (and some of which I got) it's very hard to jump the ship... at the same time I can't afford dual system... so I'll just patiently wait! Or will take a look at Leica some day sooner or later...

I don't need to "jump ship" When I go out during the day I choose either the leica M9 (or M3 if i'm in one of those film moods) or My pentax K7, pick a lens -usually the SMCP 50mm f/1.2 or the M9 with a summilux 50mm f/1.4 and take it with me wherever I go.

full frame isn't such a big thing from my standpoint because I know how much bulk it adds to cameras and lenses. Pentax really have something special going on with the DA limiteds and their digital specific lens designs.

As far as i'm concerned full frame can go to hell, Bring on the 645D!

Easy to say if you have choice between FF Leica or APSC Pentax. As I said I can only afford to support one system (even that barely and with limitations). I have glass that would be great forr FF but can't utilise it! DA ltds are great but bit slow for my liking...looks like I'll have to risk the wrath of mrs and get FA*24 to fill my final hole in...

I don't get the Fuji X100. Yes, it's a very nice looking camera, but it limits you to a single fixed lens. Very nice if I want 23mm. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking 23mm, it's a nice focal length and all, but the main reason I went to a DSLR was the versitility of interchangeable lenses. I could see the fuji if it had just a 3X zoom, 23-70 is an excellent focal range. But 23mm alone is too limiting for me, no matter what the IQ is.

And that is why I suggested Adam add the Rep system/link; to identify those who stand-out from the crowd. ... give him some rep.

Nah. Leave the legend alone. In a few years, there will be great developments in digital sensors.
