But the Fuji X100 and Sigma SD1... well, those two have me on needles I have to say... the only problem with the Sigma is that I won't be able to get line up as good as FA ltds....
I guess it's just me, but FF really doesn't hold any real excitement for me. I feel that our current format is so much better than the old 35mm format, from a sharpness, definition and clarity standpoint. That is with the exception of Kodachrome or high definition b/w films. I'm digital all the way.

1. X100
2. K-5
3. D7000
4. SD1 (only this low because of the Sigma mount :|)
I voted K-5.

- the X100 is a fine concept but a fixed lens at this price, even if high quality, is not for me sorry. And I'm a bit disappointed they couldn't bring their own sensor with integrated PD-AF, that would have been something.
- the D7000 doesn't interest me since it doesn't mount K lenses and seems like a downgraded D300 with a better sensor.
- the SD1 uses the much overrated Foveon sensor that is known for inaccurate colors. And bad high ISO due to a very low quantum efficiency. Joseph S Wisniewski in dpreview forums explained why Foveon is not all that great after all. And the rest of the camera is not that inspiring.
- The K-5 is all that was missing to make the K-7 an almost perfect camera in its range.

I agree with this 200%!!! The SD1 would be at the top of my list if it weren't for the worthless mount!
Ironically, it also has 11 af points.

This isn't an attempt or encouragement to stack the poll for Pentax, by the way. Don't think that helps anyone. But the "quick poll" on dpreview.com right now asks "Update: NOW what's the most exciting Photokina product?". There's almost 25,000 votes, and the K-5 has 11% of them.
Consider the poll now "stacked" anyway.

I don't know if taking a 4th to a 3rd of "Nope, still nothing to excite me..." is something to cheer about... lol.

the X100 really looks impressive. it's the sort of things that make you wonder how come these things aren't selling for a while now

I had voted for the K-5, but the Fuji and Sigma are both tempting. The thing is... neither one will be out for a good 5 months, so I think both are a bit questionable. Pentax managed to fit the new gadgets into the K-7 body which I think is a pretty impressive feat, even though the price might be a stinging point (thanks to the horrid exchange rate in the USA right now I think 84/1 dollar... I remember it around 130/dollar!).

Good news - it's making heads turn.
I'm sure it's a product that will do Pentax proud.
Look forward to seeing it in action!

Now if Pentax will take Fuji's idea and make one with removable lenses and some pancakes.

Agreed! I'll take a K-5 and a Pentax EVIL with that classic old style body look. Man, that just seems like an awesome and exciting combination. I'm always saying "Ugh, I don't want to take the camera cause it's too big and I don't want to bring a bag" but with something that small and a nice pancake lens, I'm game! Damn, now I'm getting giddy if this really came to light.

If I am not mistake, each person can vote multi times. I wonder how accurate the poll will be. I voted for X100 btw, 3 times!!

Perhaps only if you block cookies? I don't, and can't vote a 2nd time.

...but do you think Pentax would have the vision and/or guts to release it with the retro styling? I'm skeptical.
