Maybe this will come in a Pentax mount. Just Maybe:

APO Macro 180mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM - Macro Lenses - SigmaPhoto.com

I think it will be a bit pricey at F/2.8 but I would buy one.

But why a 180/2.8 AND a 150/2.8 in Sigma lens range ?

That's a good question. They have very similiar optical construction and MTF charts. So maybe, they are variants of the same design.

Notable changes:

1. With the addition of the 180mm (in K mount too (PA)), Sigma Germany now eventually dropped the PA variant for the 150mm).

2. The optical stabilization will be absent in Sony and Pentax (SA, PA) mounts. The 150mm in Sony mount has OSS.

So, as far as my LBA is concerned, this gives me reason to own a Pentax 100mm WR and a Sigma 180mm

Still not available. Will we see the Sigma 150mm for Pentax before the new Samyang 24mm?
I ran out of patience waiting for it. besides, having seen how the new 150 performs over the old one, I'd rather get the old version on a Nikon or Canon mount. 2 stops is not worth the trouble for macro especially if the background suffers from nervousness.

I had the older version and wasn't overwhelmed by it. After a year and little use (it's a monster and the bokeh wasn't much to write home to mom about) I sold it. I'll give you this, it sold quickly and for more than I paid for it.

NaCl(I keep hoping that that the tamron 180macro will come out in K mount)H2O

I still work with the Sigma 180mm f/3.5 APO EX Macro and I think it is a pretty decent lens, I wouldn't call it a "monster" lens considering I work with considerably larger lenses, it is roughly the same size as the canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS.Optically speaking the sigma macro is nothing to write home about but it is quite capable, though the FA*200mm f/4 ED Macro is certainly worth its weight in gold.

I really don't know what Sigma is going to do just give me one or the other. I wish Pentax would resurrect the A* 200mm F/4 macro. There is one on eBay right now for $3,000.00. At that price they can... (you know the rest)

I think I have done a great job with their Sigma 500mm F/4.5. I love that lens.

Now in addition to 'yet' unavailable 150mm macro, B&H has 180mm macro listed for Pentax, although like with 150mm it says 'new item, not available yet'.

I wonder if it will stay like that forever like 150mm did...

Sigma 180mm f/2.8 APO Macro EX DG OS HSM Lens (for Pentax) B&H

I wonder if those lenses are only made in very limited quantities and then Sigma just cuts them off for some weird reason... Like the old 180mm macro that apparently exists for K mount but you can't find it anywhere except for rare second hand deals... maybe sigma does not want to help the competitor with their optics? then why make them in K mount at all? or they don't sell? then how come they are not listed anywhere at all?

I was looking today for the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for landscape. A very highly rated lens. I wanted it in Pentax mount and it was not made??? I ended up buying it in Canon mount for my 7D. I want to try some landscape shooting before I dive in with a full frame camera.
A little frustrating some times.

A jumping spider, they are typically only a few millimetres in size and unlike many common Australian spiders are completely harmless to humans.
