Of course we asked about the TC.
They said, as I already wrote, that it would be quite expensive, perhaps about 400 Euro. Pentax Japan does not seem to think that it is profitable. But it is high on the wish-list, so there is hope.
Cool thanks for addressing that.

It's weird when in the past they had more accessories, longer lenses and now they don't.

Much like Nasa had better launch capabilities back in the 60's than they do now, they have to basically reinvent it all over again!

Yes, back at that time the hugely successful Espio compact camera series paid for the enormous (compared to today's standards) Pentax SLR system. Nowadays the Optio series of digital compacts hardly earns any money, so the DSLR system has shrunk to the bare minimum.

That's why they need to sell shitloads of K-x and K-r cameras. The more the better! Only then a bigger system will come.

True.

Still from what I've read so far:

1. Tethering, Pentax Japan has been told and has acknowledged, that it is.
2. Manual video, as above.
3. DFS well seems they have listened here finally :P
4. Flash system, still no explanation as to why the 1/180 limit and if it will change, for those of us who like been strobists, that is a bit of an issue.

If you had to choose between "quiet and reliable" and "1/250th flash sync", which would you pick?

Well the camera can go up to 1/8000 anyway, so it's really a matter of just sending out a flash trigger signal isn't it?

It's not fully-open at 1/8000th, though. At those speeds, only a portion of the sensor is exposed at a time.

That's true, however still we should be able to use it if we choose to, no matter how possibly useless it is

yeah, I would love it if they would allow us to go beyond the sync speed ~ 1/500sec and then in PP crop out any dark band that appears. Sometime the dark band adds to the image! That is one nice things my friends can do with their Canon's.
