Most interesting and scary Pentax store ever

I stumbled across the most interesting Pentax retail site I ever saw however its probably the scariest also. They list most every camera and lens from the last 20 years, most listed as "new". Seeing a new F (FA?) 600/4 was a first. However noticed they listed the K20D at least 4 places with prices ranging from $670-1200 with no mention of lens. Anyway, if you want to pretend to order a pancake DA40/2.8 for $167 then go look.

IN NO WAY AM I RECOMMENDING THIS SITE AS MOST IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE. NEEDS A LOT OF RESEARCH FIRST.

Just search on Pentax once you get there and enjoy the show.

kaushikstore Home Page

If I'm the last person in the forum to have seen this then its not the first time I came in last.

The Picture of the P70 is quiet interesting. Pentax never mentioned in the advertising that it came with an 8 octave keyboard and wood effect stand.
I think this company may just have the laziest webmaster in the world.

Just to see what happens I ordered the P FA telephoto lens at at $20.00 plus $3.95 shipping. Be interesting to see what turns up if anything or if it disappears from the site. I did not order the DA 100 macro at $5000!. Payment is by paypal so they can't sell your credit card details on!

Half the pages listed on the site, e.g. FAQs, About Us, Store Policies are empty. There is no contact us information, or any information about where this site actually is.

Very dodgy. I have reported this as a suspicious site to Google.

After a little bit of digging for my own amusement:

kaushikstore.com was registered on July 13th 2010.

The contact ("Mr Kaushik") registered address is a house in Shelby , North Carolina.
It's vacant and for sale as well.
3 Bed, 2 bath $104,000, neat bathroom, wood kitchen, and a grassy yard.

The email contact is just a typical yahoo account.

The phone contact is a (360) area code which would be in Washington state, south of Seattle & is unlisted

sounds obviously dodgy to me

Clearly you are a budding detective Steve, if not one already!

Cheers.
