They continue to say they'll email me when they know the shipping date.

As the 30 other threads on the subject indicate, there's no known exact shipping date for the K-5 in the US. Pentax USA has quoted late October/early November to a couple people including myself.

(But that doesn't stop me checking my credit card statement every day...)

A little bird tweeted (not twiter) in my ear that they will (should) start shipping from the Philippines today or tomorrow (dont know if that factors in the international dateline or not)

CC balance: $1.25
CC available credit: much, much lower than $1998.75 and in fact the exact amount lower that I pre-ordered the K-5 for...

Wonder if a certain charge from PENTAX will show up soon.

I would say that's a pretty good indication that the initial authorization has been run through and that someone's getting his K5 soon

I'm hoping to see a similar charge on my credit card in the next day or two as well

Not sure about yours, but I got notice this afternoon that mine will be here tomorrow (shipped out this afternoon). Might want to check again just in case

yeah, its so ironic that there is no K5 to be found here in Manila....
makes me wonder, why here we dont have that much Pentax DSLR bodies yet they produce it here..
