I dont get what so speciall about those shots?

You can set the apparture on the Pentax Line of video capable DSLRs, you can then lock the exposure with the exp lock. Shoot away, up up and atom...
I guess you missed all of the Pentax users posts about wishing for full manual control over video in the K-7 etc.

My Panasonic HDC-TM700 3MOS 1080p60 camcorder with Leica F1.5 12x optical zoom has the best quality video of any consumer camcorder and the Canon 60D has a higher quality 47mb/sec 1080p setting in 24,25 and 30fps than the GH2's 24mb/sec 1080i or 1080p24.

Look, all of these bodies do nice video. But I am not a video sorta guy but it's interesting to read and learn about it from the experts here.

All I know is an entire episode of House was filmed using 5D Mk II's and the 7D is a regular video tool filming episodes of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations show. I see no reason any other DSLR could not do close enough a job to work.

I am starting to finally warm to the idea of being able to shoot a short video if something interesting happens even if I would suck at it...big time!! hahahaha...

I don't even want to think about the headache of editing any video though...I have PS CS3 Extended but cripes I still haven't learned to edit photos worth a darn let alone video!!

The 60D doesn't have AF calibration. A lot of Canon users are pissed about that including my two canon shooting buddies. I think it's stupid too.

Only MF for video on Canon DSLRs. BTW the 60D is better for HD video than the 7D because it has manual audio control and articulated LCD.

FYI: the K-5 body is at #24 now in the updated sales data. I know that the demand is there, but I think there's limited availability of the camera.

Actually, the combined sales last week may be higher than in the previous week, because the 18-55WR kit is now #40 (up from #61). I guess the body-only configuration has seen higher availability (here in Norway, of the new cameras I've so far only seen K-r as body only available).

Personally, even if I had unlimited funds, I would probably still wait for the availability of the 18-135WR kit and first impressions of that lens.

The slow start of the K-r kit is also surprising, but I guess it's simply limited availability.

Nice find, gazonk.

The K-r was indeed in stores before the K-5. All four (K-x, K-r, K-7, and K-5) are currently on sale. It's quite difficult to distinguish between the K-x and K-r to look at them, and it's virtually impossible to distinguish the K-5 and K-7. Not really sure what Hoya is thinking, there. A prominent floor-to-ceiling K-7 ad poster was still up at the doorway to the flagship Bic Camera locale in Yurakucho the other day.

The "holidays" in Japan are not a buying time. That said, the biennial bonus is paid in June and December, and those are definitely busy times for electronics sales. The rainbow of K-r and K-x bodies really is quite eye-catching. There was a deep navy gloss finish on one that looked particularly good to me.
There seems to be more of a focus on the K-5 in that branch now and very nice it is too... though not as nice as the 645D they have on display

I have to say it's pretty cool to see the 645D on display after years of confusion and delay.

What did you think of the way they'd laid out the kr and Kx?

^ I think the layout for the k-x and k-r in Kichijoji, at least, is good.
Bright and eye-catching.
The k-5 and 645D sits at the top of the Pentax display area.
Bit of a shame that Pentax is tucked in the far corner though...
