Well that's not exactly true is it?

Canon EF 35mm f/1.4 L is pretty close to the Limited 31mm f/1.8 and they cost 1098 and 999 respectively, a whopping 99 extra . No equivalent at 43mm however unless you go for the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L which is twice the price of the Limited 43mm, but that does give you a larger max aperture.

Whilst we're on the limiteds.... what has me scratching my head is when I keep reading "weathersealed body" and "awesome limiteds" in the same sentence. Awesome as they are, weathersealing becomes a pointless advantage as the lenses themselves aren't weathersealed.

Weathersealed limiteds... oh now that'd be nice.

DA* 55 was a step in the right direction for that.... I don't know about the build quality of DFA WR 100 but just from the looks that thing definitely qualifies as a limited.

Only if Pentax made a pancake lens that was weather sealed. K-5 + WR 21mm DA would be a outdoorsman match made in heaven. I would buy that set in a hearbeat.

Except for the fact that manual aperture rings have been sacrificed there is quite disturbing - I personally wouldn't consider a true macro lens without.

And they appear to be taking its predecessor (100 D FA Macro non-WR, with manual Ap ring) off the market too, it's not available for Buy Now on Pentax US website at date of this posting (but the old 50/2.8 1:1 w/ring still is), plus I've seen the old model 100 heavily discounted at some retailers in the the UK lately. All smells phase-out to me.

Well that canon lens here in Canada is ~$1700 and the 31 Ltd is ~$1200

So maybe not triple but 1.5x

With Canon and Nikon aside from primes the nice high quality zooms are high priced especially with stabilization and silent wave focusing. I know they also make super nice glass. I guess with the Pentaxs they can be cheaper without the need for OS. Im shooting with Tamron, cheap and good Altho I do want some nice pentax primes eventually

Because of the rambling, it reads more like something from a blog post, not a technical article. Pretty amateurish as every compliment is of the backhanded variety.
