I know from private communication that parts of Pentax have found it outrageous that some Benelux dealers dumped prices for K20D and K-7 that much. But I thought that was settled by excluding Benelux from the cash-back action.
Note that the above is my personal impression and in no way one can draw conclusions what Pentax is doing or thinking. Moreover, I have no information whatsoever about the cash-back action. Except that it was a decided thing to do the time around Photokina already.
BTW, the low Dutch prices are real. E.g., a Pentax K-r sells for €599,- incl. 19% VAT and is on stock. Which is 25€ less than best price in Germany (cash-back qualified however). However, for the K-5, the price difference is 120€ rather than 25€. So, I wonder why Pentax sells the cameras so cheaply to the Benelux importer if they don't like the end prices.
