Besides the Special Edition 40mm Takumar and the grey A* 135mm (a Special Edition as well, AFAIK) lenses, there are only two unidentified pieces of glass, and both look very similar to one another.

The only characters visible on the lens are "L" and "2.4", so my guess is it's the brand new DA 35mm L F/2.4 (or a early prototype).

That's not English letters, looks like "ヒ" and "ツ" from Katagana (glyphs japanese use to indicate pronunciations of foreign words), followed by a "1". I have no clue what that would mean, though.

It makes me wonder how many of the lenses were made.

That was actually a special edition for the AP anniversary edition camera and only a very few of them were made and they weren't available to the public. According to Dimitrov, only 1 of these bodies (based on the K10d) was made. It makes me wonder how many of the lenses were made.

The body wasn't even fonctional. Just a piece of wood. I forgot to ask about the lenses

I must admit that hammertone grey 135mm is quite fetching.

D*mn... !

The two mysterious DA's are most probably two early prototypes of the DA35/2.8 macro, after all...

Found these two pix's on the Chinese Xitek-Forum:

Isn't it weird that prototypes are floating around in China?

There was at least one functional body.

Hum. This was reported to me by the former chef demonstrator of Pentax at the Salon de la photo in Paris. Maybe they made more than one.

I'm sure that had some "mocked" props that they sent around to dealers etc. as well.

It would be certainly nice to have a K-5 body in that same style.
And indeed, why not? They'd sell tons of them after all these wonderful appraisals coming from all around.
