Nothing really new, once again other important questions not asked.

Ok interview. Good hearing from the top that Limited lenses are here to stay.
Though I never really saw the rumor as anything other than the usual internet thing, where small discussions suddenly gets blown out of proportion

The interview pretty much nailed down the obvious.

No lens road map. It appears small and light is the future for Pentax glass, so Sigma will be the go-to supplier for fast glass.

Seriously the question about FA limiteds is only applicable to a tiny portion of Pentax users, for what I shoot FA limiteds mean absolutely nothing. Larger issues in terms of Pentax been taking serious by pros should've been discussed, I'm sounding like a broken record but features such as tethering is important to pro shooters, manual video control is Pentax is serious about attracting film makers and a decent flash system which would be useful for wedding photographers.

I think seeing Ned mention the D-FA 100mm WR macro is a good sign. I really want to see more glass like that. Say a D-FA 28mm WR.......

Doesn't sound like any plans for a fast standard or moderate wide. Also didn't ask any SDM questions. Apart from that it sounded OK.

What a tease

I didn't realise at first that Mike was joking when he mentioned the 25mm f2 WR....

Fast glass and long glass unfortunately. I'd love to get my hands on a Limited 500mm 4.5, but I don't see that happening this decade with Pentax.

Luckily the Sigma 500 is well regarded...

that lens will be for the 645D and it will be an f/4 lens. It will be interesting if it gives full coverage of the 645 full frame. On the 645D, the new 25mm will be a 19.5mm equivalent in 35mm terms, on full frame 645 a 25mm lens becomes a 15mm equivalent, an extreme focal length but i'm sure it will be useful for architecture.

Personally I would find a 28mm f/2.8 more preferable for the 645D that way it has a 21mm focal length in 35mm terms which I is as wide a focal length as I go, any lenses wider than that are too specialised and don't see much use at all.

+1

Good to see Pentax "in the press" but I read all that stuff before (I think in the interview Misere did).

Is there a kind of deal that the interviewers don't ask the interesting questions because either the answers aren't good ones or are not available?

Ned does sort of hint there are more DA Limiteds in the pipeline. Let's hope for a 24-28mm one...

DA*16/2 WR non-SDM at $800 would be awesome.

They talk about the 18-135, but don't mention the new lens motor?
Now that I got that off my chest.

The interview was ok. I would like to see a good hour interview someday.

Perhaps it's an idea for Pentaxforums to gather questions from the users and apply for an interview with Ned?
