So, the K-5 is supposedly priced similar to the Nikon D7000 in Europe (i.e. cheaper than the US), plus you get a rebate too? Pentax USA needs to do something similar...

I am seeing the K-5 body for around €1250 here and the D7000 body for around €1200...still way more once you convert the exchange rate to US Dollars.

It must depend on where you are finding the K-5 for less than €1100 to equal what the US asking price is currently. Some countries in the EU are offering for less than what I am seeing in Athens right now.

The K-5 body is advertised for €1139... with cashback you would spent just over a €1000.

I know what I will get for X-mas

BTW the Nikon D7000 is around 1050€ at the same shop

Lucky you! Much more expensive right now in Greece. Maybe the price will drop if they realize the sales are slow?
