And I'm also glad to see you're still around.
I do see what you did there, catching Ned's attention...

Good to see you are still using that Pentax gear and again showing great fashion shooting.
I hope Ned could pull some strings to get you a stain free K5. It would be very interesting to see what you could accomplish with that fabulous sensor.

Probably stuff that wouldn't look any different published in the Magazine formats I work in. I was actually thinking of some K-r's for what I do. They are light, disposable after a year or so and have a wickedly good 12.3 megapixel sensor that would be perfect for magazine work.

I will wait and see...Perhaps a couple of K5's and a couple of grips might be nice...a 645D would be interesting as well...But so would any of the better DSLR's out there if you catch my drift.
It all comes down to what you have invested in glass, as all DSLR's are overly expensive disposable camera's.

Who is this "Ben KanErek"?

Ben, I find it surprising that you call something like the K-5 "overly expensive". Have a look at this cut away shot by Falk and tell me you are not impressed one can build something like that for this price.

I NEVER said the K5 was overly expensive. I said that all DSLR's are expensive disposable cameras.

I never said you said that.

You said "...all DSLR's are overly expensive disposable camera's." (emphasis is mine) and last time I looked "all DSLRs" included the K-5. I never meant to insinuate that you were criticising the K-5's pricing specifically and don't dispute that some DSLRs are overly expensive but taking the K-5 as an example I don't think it is fair to say that "all DSLRs are overly expensive".

Can't we just accept a little hyperbole without challenging the nuances of it?
Frankly, form my perspective, Ben is 100% correct anyway.
How many people, when they adopt a new technology go back to the previous technology unless they have to for some reason?
I haven't shot a single frame on my istD since I got my K10, haven't used it since I got my K20, only used my K20 once as a second camera at a wedding since I got my K7, and have no desire to use my K7 now that I have a K5.
When Pentax comes out with a newer and better camera than the K5, I have no reason to expect the cycle won't repeat, and the K5 will become disposed of also.

In 7 years, I have effectively disposed of 4 DSLR cameras.
That's pretty expensive disposable cameras.
