I heard a Rumor....Firmware update

Hello Pentaxians,

Just bought a K-5 recently. I heard the next firmware update will push K-5 to its limits.

Update for SDXC (already known)
9.5 FPS RAW (this will push the capabality of K-5)

I heard by January 2011 the update will start.

Maybe some of you knows anything about the update, you can add what you know.

Add manuals video control and a cotton candy dispenser, and we'll have one hell of a camera!

But seriously, the K-5 is alredy a beast of a machine. If they were able to some how magically coax it's to hit 9.5 fps, that would be insane. It sounds a little ridiculous to me, but with how impressive so many other aspects of the camera are, I'm inclined to have a lot more faith in Pentax's ability to do amazing things.

But seriously, manuals video controls...

I wasn't supposed to know about it but it was told. I was suprised really. I was only asking for a battery grip. I'm already happy with the K-5 now but is it possible to push k-5 to 9.5fps? Will see. Honestly him/her will give the link to me for the download but he/she says much better if you wait till January to make it official.

I dont want to try it now with my K-5.

Well its only a rumor. But still, if i said yes and have the file will you try it? Me, no it will not be covered by any warranty. i'm loving the K-5 now and more importantly it is really a great camera.

OK.

* I heard elsewhere that low-light AF will be improved.

* And some have been suggesting that errors in P-TTL using bounce flash will have a software solution. Sometime.

Next?

If they somehow managed to actually do this, they would really need to introduce a third frame rate option. Just having 9.5 and 1.5 fps would be ridiculous. I think something like 9.5, 6, and 2.5 would be good. That would still leave it separate from the K-7 frame rates, for those few people trying to get the perfect speed for an action sequence shot. As it stands, I feel like they should release something in the middle through FW.

Second the motion for an intermediate rate.

I propose an amendment for somewhere between 3.5 and 5.5 fps.

Query: is this really hard? If it's trivial, why not? Some capabilities will be expanded upon and will drive the next model. This isn't one of those.

I agree with manual video controls! I know people will shout all that jazz about it being a photo camera so you don't need manual video control, but if you compare it to the competition it is one glaringly obvious advantage the Nikon D7000 and Canon 7D have - and right now, one of the very few things the K-5 doesn't beat or rival them with.
