dear lord,

please bless pentax with a low noise/high iso performance in the next awesome camera. you see i really need it so that i can continue to make a paycheck. times are really hard right now, and if you could help me out and hook up pentax with a 'quiet' sensor performance, i might be able to sell larger prints.

Sorry to burst a bubble, but the second picture showing a body (cad) drawing is that of the old *ist-D
Now that is not to say they are not nt working on a new body, but the drawing has nothing to do with it unless there stepping back in body design.

Looks like bs to me...
I hope their next body will be a K1D and not a k20d.. We need something more high end, at least in the 2000$ range to expand the lineup, not just < 1000$ models, hard to compete with canikons pro lineup if our bodies are going to be so cheap.

The drawing has something similar with the *ist, the left side of the camera, near where the AF-S/AF-C/MF switch(slider) is, shows what looks like a rubber tab covering maybe a synchro(?) terminal, like the *ist D has. maybe they added that old feature perhaps?

K20D... I don't think so...

Maybe in 2008...

As to a pro model around $2000, it really doesn't seem to be in the mood at Hoya since they replaced the launch of DA 200, 300 and 60-250 by the... 18-250 (they have even removed the launch date for those on the so-called roadmap...)

Not a very exiting end of year for Pentax I think.

Yep, they removed the launch date for the DA* 200, 300 and 60-250.

Now I don't really care for a new body but was really hoping for the 60-250, Pentax really lacks a quality zoom in this range.

Oh well... I guess I'll have to wait...

And this was actually written over 3 months back, just before the China Photo Equipment Show in Beijing in the end of June 2007 (I was there btw

). In the article the author was trying to explain why the rumored K20D wouldn't be out during the China Photo Equipment Show (but rumored otherwise) ...

I'm with the others, I'd rather seeing more lenses released instead of another new body.

I doubt that link is true, but yea, the next camera, I really hope that it does more then 3fps. That is one of the reason why I didn't move to the K10D and still have the K100D. That and I don't have a lot of money.

It must be really fascinating for those in the know to read all the speculation about new bodies especially if you actually know what's coming and when!

I almost feel it's a shame and a bit of a letdown that I don't, I would love to be in on the laughs they must be having in the R&D department. I can almost hear them now!

Let's tell 'em it's the Sony 12MP sensor but cheaper than a D80! Har! Har!

Actually, I know, let's tell 'em it's a new APS-C CMOS, but not the Sony! That will cause some real speculation!

No, no, let's tell 'em it's FF and 10 fps! Ho! Ho!
