Pentax on mirrorless: 'we never rule anything out'

DPR conducted a brief interview with the Pentax US Product Manager. Nothing too exciting was divulged, but a good little read none the less:

They are half-admitting that the K-7 is a "bad" high end camera due to its sensor. Hummmm....

No fight intended, I am a happy K-7 owner.

So maybe they will take the stained K-5 sensors & offer K-7 owners a free swap? Hooray!
never stop dreaming..

How about they get their act together and start a decent flash system first!

They are not ruling it out yesterday, while six months ago it was revealed to investors that they are working on it?

I'm 99,99% sure that the camera is already in a testing/pre-production stage. They will offer something different from the Panasonics and Oly's out there.

I believe so too. They seem to understand the Japanese market well which is proven by the numerous color choices for example. The mirrorless trend is huge in Japan as I understand. No chance that they haven't picked up that trend early imo Only technical problem / R&D time will delay this as it should be a good business case.

I believe so. And size I hope. Smallest aps-c system is my guess. Sony can keep their useless "smallest body" title as they add silly big lenses to it.

The question is; can Pentax go beyond WR and make it waterproof? I see problems with interchangeable lenses but if the solved that, I would be success

I would like to see Pentax introduce a WR version of the Fuji X100 with a couple of DA Limited pancakes.

Waterproof as in submergible? A small watertight APS-C could be the Nikonos of the XXI century. It's something missing in today market.

Cold fusion. I bet they've ruled out cold fusion.

Not at all! I hear they are working on a full frame, mirror-less K-3 that will never need batteries because it uses cold fusion.

I'm a stubborn SLR fan, but a point & shoot with a k-mount? I'm listening!

Yes, that is what I was thinking of. But I suppose there is a lot of problem to solve. Not just making it waterproof while using it under water. Users will change lenses while wet or dusty and get it inside very easily.
