"Not everybody."

Additionally, it would seem you != everybody.

So while you won't buy or use one, there are people out there with small hands and would find it a god-send to use a smaller camera. Thus, a (digital) Auto 110 is not a silly idea.

Your hands are big too.

Digital auto 100 is discrimination of persons with big hands.

This is nonsense, nobody wants to replace current DSLR by micro cameras. I have big hands (I have problems finding gloves that are big enough), and I want a tiny system camera as a lightweight alternative to my K10D. As long as I can push the shutter button without hitting several other buttons, I'll be fine. After all I've shot some thousand shots with my tiny W10 without worrying about my hand size.

Mirrorless Rumors | Blog | HOT: First pictures of the Pentax NC mirrorless system!

The first news - bad. Crop 6. 1/2.33" sensor.

Good new - the second one EVIL will be with 14 MP APS-C sensor and K-mount.

Crop 6.
It looks cool but for those with some optics knowledge...

Is there a noticeable differece (in terms of DOF) between 8.5 f1.9 and the above zoom at 8.5 f4?

indeed, if it's true.

What would be the point of interchangeable lenses at all on such a small-sensor system? Isn't the sensor the limiting factor anyway?

But the article also mentions the other system with APS-C sensor coming this summer

Exactly. What is the point, what benefit over a point and shoot? Even with f1.9 lens, there is not much playing with depth of field achievable. Noise is going to be a issue at relatively low isos. I just don't see it. Get a nice point and shoot and be done with it.

Now, APS-C or, four thirds makes a little more sense...

At 1 meter distance, you'll get 59 cm DOF with f/4 and only 26 cm with f/1.9, so you might be able to blur the background slightly with the f/1.9 lens.

No fast lenses, very small body and lenses.
No,it┤s not.
It is made for the japanese and us market.
More interesting is the "one" later
But nothing for James Bond

APS-C and mount K is more interesting for us. I've heard that small EVIL is for Japanese market.

I don't believe the specs yet, though. The image is clearly wrong, the two lenses, for instance, are identical, and are probably both the prime lens. It's impossible to read the letters from the lens on the camera (except that f/1.8 or f/1.9 seems likely), so I'm not sure about the focal length. And what if it's indeed a 8.5 mm, but the sensor is 1/1.6? That would make much more sense, since the prime lens then would be roughly a 35mm moderate wide, ideal for such a camera. And the system would then suddenly be an interesting alternative to the "photographer's P&S" class of cameras, e.g. the LX5.

Maybe even Ned could use it, instead of upgrading to whatever Leica calls the LX5

There is no way the large-sensor system will be native K-mount (because of the registration distance, natch.) The article reads "compatible with current K-mount lenses" which will probably be true, with an adapter that is. Hopefully with AE, possibly with AF... but there will be a new mount, no doubt.

it looks pretty cool, and there is the apsc model coming for higher quality. If could easily replace the lx5 type camera as a pocket camera. and from reading the article i get the impression it will be c mount like the kenko (which would make sense, widening the number of lenses available and putting 2 brands into they system)
Not what i might be looking for but i bet they sell, particularly in japan
