Right. Still think it's a fake, though, since the two lenses are too much the same. Seriously - everything more than 20 pixels below the top of the lenses is exactly the same, including the front lens element.
...and other than a couple of pixels, everything above that point is identical too. It's just all been shifted upwards one pixel. Take a close look -- there are two identical rows at the base of the shifted area.

The picture quality is degraded because it came from a PP extract.

I don't think the debate was to why the picture quality is degraded, but rather why the "two" lens pictures are one and the same.

Why bother comparing the rumored camera to ones with (EDIT: probably) an IQ leagues above? How about an S95 or a LX5?

If pentax makes a mirrorless camera with a bigger sensor and K mount, how will that compare with the K5? For people upgrading from lower models (kx) it may be tempting to go straight to a mirrorless if the same lenses can be used

You're implying they can solve the problem which, AFAIK, noone else really has so far - fast CDAF with lenses which weren't made with CDAF in mind. So I think K-5 will keep the advantage of fast autofocus with (most) K-mount lenses.

Unless by mirrorless they really mean SLT - which is quite possible, though isn't really mirrorless.

Question - what black magic does it take to make a lens work with CDAF?

I thought about this little sensor gimic and I think it is a good plan. Just make it in a box with those two lenses. Make it in 2 colours at least. Shuffle into production and make like 500.000 boxes and sell those babys around the world. What would they cost, like $ 249 or so that makes a great camera.

To be honest, I don't know enough about it technically, not even enough to speculate. I think you are a lot more knowledgeable on this and might be able to at least speculate . Or perhaps someone like falconeye might.

But in any case it seems that few Four Thirds lenses autofocus quickly on m43 cameras and few if any Alpha lenses autofocus quickly on NEX cameras - all with the proper "officials" adapters. And I recall that Samsung didn't even do an AF adapter for NX, did they?

Sent a copy of this thread to a friend at CRK Australia.

It's real, Japanese market only they are likely to do a similar approach as they did with the 645D.

There's conflicting reports whether or not its true, few outside of Japan actually know the truth.

Depending on the price I'd say the NC-1 will be cross-shopped with cameras like the Panasonic GF2. It will be interesting to see what people choose since the sizes look pretty close. Surely the GF2 will be more expensive and have larger lenses, but the IQ *should* be in a totally different league. I personally would choose the more expensive GF2 as a travel camera if the NC-1 spec rumors are true, but who knows what teenagers and hipsters will do. I'm not even going to pretend like I understand why some people buy gadgets as fashion accessories.
