There will be also micro-SLR camera. I think it will has either NC-1's bayonet, or K-mount.

What do you mean by "micro-SLR camera"?
A camera with mirror, but significantly smaller than current DSLRs?

It's hard to make a K-mount camera smaller than the K-x. Unless the O/EVF is skipped.

Yes. Auto 110 in digital version. It's just my guess.

The rumors say Pentax will offer 2 cameras this spring with "non-classical" design - digital Auto 110 and EVIL. Auto 110 was SLR camera.

I doubt that "digital auto 110 slr" and EVIL will have different mounts.

But it could be very banal move - like NX10 and NX100 cameras.

Thanks. I hope PhotoRumors can finagle some more information, even if just sensor size. That will tell a lot about which direction Hoya intends to take regarding mirrorless cameras.

N - non-mirror? Same letter as NX, NEX, perhaps indicating aps-c somehow?

C - camera? compact? Or new mount called C mount?

And with sequential model numbering like GH1 GH2, so they are naming it right in line with other mirror-less cameras already on the market.

I can't see any point at all to having a large mirrorless camera. The only reason to lose the mirror is to reduce size - otherwise anything you can do with an EVIL you can do with an SLR. Just switch it to live view.
The mirror is a precision moving part. It ought to be cheaper and more reliable and lighter to get rid of it. Also a good EVF can have some advantages over Live View.

I have to say I am bothered by the thought of a new Pentax camera with interchangeable lenses which isn't K-mount. They'd have to produce a whole new range of lenses, and I doubt they'd have the capacity to do that and still produce new K-mount lenses for their old customers.

There is already a C-mount:

I think NX and NEX are wordplays with "Next". Remember the NeXT Cube?

N as in NC for "Next" wouldn't make sense as it breaks the wordplay. May mean "New Camera" or "Next Camera" but wouldn't be very innovative.

"Pentax NC-1" is a good term to google for. Nothing else but the photorumours source.

NC = New Compact? New Camera?
Anyway, I don't believe in Auto 110 digital. It is wishful thinking here, for nostalgic reasons - a digital version of the Auto 110 with the same lens mount and similar styling and small size. No, I don't believe in it.

However, Pentax may very well release more compact camera with replaceable lenses and no mirror.

But if they do, we will have fewer new lenses developed for the K-mount.
Pentax are already struggling developing lenses for APS-C and the new 645D. Add another lens mount, ooooh... There hasn't been so many new lenses coming for our beloved (?) APS-C in recent years. The 18-55 WR, 50-200 WR and 100 Macro WR only changed exterior design.. Sure the new 18-135 is nice but we want more.

But perhaps Pentax spent the time developing lenses for another lens mount...
For me, most logical solution would be micro 4/3 for Pentax since this mount already have lenses for it and Pentax only needs to design some very special ones - like Limiteds but for micro 4/3. There are indeed rumours about 17 f/2 or f/2.8 (FOV equivalent to a 34-35mm lens for 24x36) and 14 f/2.8 (FOV equivalent to a 28 f/2.8).

But what could Pentax offer that Panasonic and Olympus aren't already offering?
I don't know.

NC-1 = Nikon Canon minus 1 =)

Seriously, Pentax is innovation. Probably NC is "New Concept" in mirrorless tech.

Reminds me of my illustration from some months ago - of LX scaled down with the APS-C crop factor :-)
