I certainly see the similarities between this model:

And the one photorumors.com posted back in early February of this year.

And Ken100D's drawing:

And his rough sketch outline:

So I fear this is the real thing, folks!

The large button is probably the flash pop-up.

Yes... it is shown now. Front view only. when i saw it is 3 views.
Photorumors say 2 color but somebody told me its 3 (red).

-14.0 mp
- Full HD
- The system will be called "Q" (of James Bond)
- On the upper left (view looking aft) it is the mode dial.
- New Sensor

At the moment its only this one. Like i said those 2 buttons are the prominent thing you'll remember when you see it for the first time.

Is the sensor size 1/2.33" true?

New 1/2.33" sensor? Whooo, I can see the usual analysis pouring forth from DxO; and 500 posts on ISO x performance... 8^P

Yes, such a camera would have to have a 1/1.6" - 1/1.7" sensor or even a 2.5 crop factor sensor. Then make it small, rugged, weather-sealed and high-quality plus with high-quality optics. Then price it sighlty above the G-12, LX5 and XZ-1. It would sell to dslr users looking for a nice rugged "pocket" camera when not carrying the dslr.

Instead it looks like a retro-styled fashion statement bordering on being a "toy". I am sorry to be so negative but it just don't seem like a camera that will do much for Pentax.

It's not a camera for a photographer. It's something for young japanese girls. I think they will sell it well, to a market segment that steps up from point and shoot looking for small system cameras, but are not so delving into IQ.

I am interested into such a cameras but only for using with digiscoping. But I think I am more attracted by the Kenko version, I am not really into vintage.

I sure hope Pentax sources this EVF from Sony:

We know have confirmation from our sources the A77 will feature a 3 Million dots OLED viewfinder. That more than double of the resolution fo the current Sony A55/33 viewfinder. They have 1,4 Million dots. We have no specific technical details about the new viewfinder but we were told that it has a higher refresh rate and a greater brightness too.
That's nuts. My G1 only has a resolution of 800x600 and it has been enough to convince me the that I'll never need an optical view finder again. A 2000x1500 resolution OLED view finder + faster refresh rate would make me forget about optical view finders all together.
These so-called 3 million dots are in fact 1,152 x 864 pixels x 3 primary colours (R+G+B).

If the text is all wrong except for the actual focal lengths (8.5mm, 5-15mm) on the lenses, then it could be 1/1.7" with 24-70mm & 35mm equivalent lenses. That would seem more premium. (I'm a dreamer)

Well we will see , anything with interchangeable lenses is not that appealing for the total amateur ( I need something a little better then my cellphone ) type of person.

more lenses = a camera for people that takes their photography a little more seriously . but I got to say even amateur photographers these days buying compacts with lenses wider then 28 . this camera and sensor needs to have amazing IQ that beats most point and shoots

yeah, I saw that on that rumor site in the comments after I posted that. Still though, 1200x800 or so is very very good for an EVF; especially if it has a very fast refresh rate and less color tearing; which it supposedly does.

On a side note: I wonder if one of the off putting things some people may have with EVF's is seeing the white balance as you compose. I know it's really been bothering me on the G1. With my K7 I just leave it on auto WB then change it in Lightroom if I need too since I shoot RAW. However, on the G1 I find myself changing the white balance all the time to make the scene look as it should when composing. Of course that could just be that the G1 has crappy auto WB....

then indeed it would start actually making sense.

How could, at the same time, 8.5mm be equivalent to 35mm and 15mm to 70mm?
