I really think the lens on the camera has been doctored. Look closely at the pixels. There is a square area about 17x17 pixels around the red markings in which everything has a different tint. Look at the almost perfectly hard transition from red and green to grey at the edges of this square. And I don't understand why there would be so much greenish tint there. Maybe it's just that this is the only area with colour, and the Pentax marketing dept. boosted saturation or colour contrast on the photo.

Well if the sensor is as good or better then like Samsung Ex1 DxOMark - Samsung EX1, Samsung TL500 then it can be a nice little camera.

It also needs a little macrolens, fisheye, telelens and maybe some nice toythings.

More fun with images: I cut the lens on the right and pasted it in a layer over the lens on the left, with the top layer set to "Difference". I aligned them as best I could. Here's what you get:

So there's an APS-C EVIL, and it was mentioned that Pentax is looking to compete with the x100 market... here's hoping it's a digital LX, with same retro design and size

Not a problem. At this price point and low IQ they'll be cheap plastic things all around. They'll be in the discount bucket at the photo shop, right by the door.

Why invest in glass for a low quality, super-small sensor? Won't make a darn bit of difference.

These tint that you talk about. Could this be because the camera used to take this pic had a sensor stains??

The thing is, with a sensor that small, I'd actually rather just have a decent zoom in a pocketable package, a la Panasonic's ZS/TZ series. The only thing missing is a viewfinder.

This is the real news! Forget the crappy gimmicky other one, an APC-C EVIL is big news... If they get it right it will be the perfect platform for small manual and limited pentax lenses... We just need them to include the non-crippled K-Mount... Please Hoya, get this one right... And if they do, watch the prices of manual K-Mount glass skyrocket...

Do you think they will include SDM contacts? Will we see it released with a cheaper Limited size lens, or with a DA-L 35mm? Or will it be high-end enough to warrant a DA 40 Ltd?

If they make it compete with the Leica X1 and Fujifilm rangefinders then something similar in size and look to the K1000 would be so stylish...

Perfect for me and candid street photography - silent, compact, high end glass.
