I found a very good reason for Pentax to make a smaller system. The NEX with superzoom:

It is totaly not logic to have such a combo!

That's a good reason to use a smaller sensor than APSC indeed.

Would that work well with reading glasses? And if having hayfever?

Anyway, I hope the pentax mini will be a miracle of IQ and performance, then come to The Netherlands and then I will not buy a Sony hx9v but the Pentax mini. I am all for it. Mini is wonderful, it is (de)light(ful).

But big is ok, if my husband carries the backpack with lenses. :ugh:

Picture quality, in a way, is relative. If you value it above all, go full format. Take the pain.

We all want the best. Why? Logic. The best is powerful and mighty.

But reality humbles. Often to document, just to plainly document my experiences/emotions, simple quality suffices. To be able to move, just move about and go unnoticed, is the most important. Many around me have a quick laugh seeing a picture, all fleets by. It was enough.

I do not have expositions in famous halls, but maybe you do, nor do I make a living with pictures. Ridiculous thought in my world. Photography is just an alternative to words, picture=/-communication. It is fast, it is direct, explicit.

Mini should be mini. Really. Preferably turquoise with nice grass green lenses.

Why would it bother anyone, the "mini" ('s) quality? Noone is ordered to buy or use one. You have many alternatives. Or do we secretely want the mini to be big and perform in an outrageous way we know is honestly not realistic? Nothing matters more than freedom of movement and expression. I could easily have bought a 645D, but I don't think I need it. It really doesn't "befIt" me. But he now, a mini would.

Really looking forward to mini. My wish for the mini: guess: mini, turqoise with green lenses, best possible IQ/performance, cute little bag to go with it, and go with it.

The sensor quality has gotten to the stage where a smaller sensor is more and more feasible, and thus suited interchangeable lens systems can be designed smaller. Pentax have done well with APS-C, they can do it smaller yet with this proposed EVIL setup.

Hmm... I might actually like it.
Do you have sample shots?
BTW, I do hope the camera looks better than the rumored one in white/beige

Those C lenses don't seem unusably tiny. But why not deploy a 2/3" sensor that can use the full light circle? That's nearly twice the diameter of the 1/2.33" that's rumoured.
