I will be happy to be wrong and I hope Pentax sells millions of them.

Most people who don't care about sensor size and just want a small convenient camera also don't care about interchangeable lenses. These people are not going to shell out $600+ dollars for a camera.

IMHO the people who are willing to deal with different lenses also have higher IQ standards and demands which a mini-sensor camera does not address.

It looks like the perfect example of what NOT to build.

Pentax must have some strong marketing data to show that there is demand for something like this. I don't see the need. There are plenty of good options in the mini sensor market segment. I hope Pentax did not spend a lot of money on product development for some thing like this.
for certain, they didn't consult a marketing data from Pentax Users if that was the case. :ugh:

I remember that awful thing quite clearly! It rivals the best retro designs from the likes of vivitar and any number of other junk 5mp camera types you can find on daily deal sites every day of the week.

Olympus has done retro extremely well with their m4/3 cameras - Pentax doesn't have to follow their design, but they certainly need to do a lot better than the digital i-10!

that must be a russian thing because over here none of them seem to be able to even keep it in stock, and every major camera retailer I now in Canada carries it (though the general electronics big box stores do not)

the K-5 is doing just fine. the concern however is if Pentax continue to insist on having a 1/2.33 size sensor camera selling as much as the rival m4/3 and APS-C MILCs. personally, I won't invest $500 on an inflated $50 dollar camera.

Well it's still all just a rumor as far as I know, so there's no use getting hot under the collar just yet. I'm just saying that Pentax has shown some product savvy lately, so I'd be surprised if the released a dud. We don't know the sensor size. We don't know the price. Heck, we don't know anything.

And even if it is a smaller sensor, we in this forum just might have to admit that Pentax has decided that it's time to see other people...

Don't blame you, but I don't think we're invited to this particular party.

well, atleast I'll be the one to do the dumping first if that happens, not Pentax.

So it's come to this. 8^D

That's a damn small camera indeed if it's an interchangeable-lens system.

Disappointing, looks like the tiny sensor MILC is being released first, with (fingers crossed) a big sensor MILC in a couple of months.
