This looks pretty cool. For those who are still considering whether to get the K5, this just give them one more reason to do so.

Assuming this is not a hoax or photoshop job, the shape of the handgrip in the photograph is different from that of a normal K-5.

The pictures say limited....so presumably it's Japan only. I don't see this coming out less than 14 months down the road. They can use many of the same plastic castings, so it makes sense. I would be surprised if they marketed as another "Silver". In the past 50 years, Pentax has used the same "limited edition" tags, but has never (to my knowledge) used 2 in a row. The "limited edition" models tend to reuse film models, such as the the Super, Titan, Silver. Perhaps the K-5 will come out as a SE?

Strange, I have been able (and I am still able) to access it without any login/pwd.

Edit: I hope this looks legit enough:

I can't see them waiting 14 months--they'll have a new model out by then!

But you're right about the names--K10D Grand Prix, K20D Titan, K-7 Silver... whatever they call it, it looks sweet!

I must say I was surprised too to see the shape of the grip altered from the regular K-5; wonder why they did that. Compared against the K-7 Limited Silver, they went with a less finely textured leatherette pattern, the SR badge is now silver (instead of gold), and they made the mode dial, mount release button, and the AE-L, Play, and Delete buttons silver (hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like the Green and EC buttons are also silver now).

If I we're still shooting Pentax I would definitely consider the silver K5.
It has a nice retro look to it, similar to my fathers silver MZ-3 & MZ-S

how about making the Silver K5 have manual video controls?
and one month later, the normal K5 via firmware?

I personally love the silver...

But I'm going to reluctantly disbelieve this silver edition, based on the basic viewfinder (instead of the same as the K7 silver) and it not having the protective glass over the LCD

So until I own one, this K5 Silver will not exist

A silver *Ist DS would be mine if my local dealer could get one so I settled with a black one. Needles to say I like the retro silver K-5.
