It's mock-up.

Did you see 100/2.2 from Hasselblad?

weight 780 g.
dimension - 80.5*87.5 mm
HC 2.2/100
Did you see the front of that f/2.2 lens?

interesting to see that the Hasselblad lens( which are actually made by fuji) is substantially shorter than the mock up of the new pentax lens, and I have been looking closely at the front of the new lens and there is quite a bit of space for a much larger front element.

It's hard to say that Pentax mock-up has smaller front element than 100/2.2.
How to compare?

it's 75/2.8...

mock-up is close to 645 FA150/2.8

well it could be a 135mm f/2 - which would make it a 105mm FOV equivalent on 35mm and we know pentax have a liking for that particular focal length....they did make the DA70mm limited, which has a equivalent FOV to a 105mm lens on APS-C cameras.

I know this is all conjecture - we won't know what the lens is until it is officially announced

it's 75/2.8...
This 75mm is quite short so the front element does not have to be that wide ... and besides it's f/2.8.
The mockup 100 mm is very long (not just mm wise but physically) so the front element for a f/2.0 would have to be quite big.

It's roughly the same with the limited lenses for APS-C. The 70 mm limited is a great example - 1 x 2.5 x 2.5 inches ; 4.8 ounces.

It would be great if this was a 135 mm f/2.0 or even a 100 mm f/2.0, but the length of that lens barrel combined with the front element (even if it is replaced with a bigger element) looks to be smaller than f/2.0. There still has to be room for weather sealing and SDM.

We don't know the real focal lenght of new Pentax D-FA645....It's said from 75 till 125 mm.
HC is not f/2, HC is 100/2.2 lens.

f/2 is superfast lens for MF. No need IMO. 135/2.4 would be good.

If f/2 is superfast for MF then that 67 240mm f/1.2 zoomatar would be classified as *insane*.

However, I don't know of anyone who has ever come across that lens.

God, that thing must have the most insanely thin DOF. I wonder what the minimum focus is though, 20 feet?

Zoomatar? More like ZOHMYGOD

They probably shoot stars with that.

The prototype is rather large, maybe f2.

No. It has a very small front element. It seems equal or smaller than the 120/4 macro. My guess it is a redesigned macro lens with a speed of F:4.
An inner focusing design suitable for SDM. Pretty much like the transformation from the A* 200/4 macro to the FA* 200/4 Macro IF.
You can see the AF/MF switch on the left side of the mock-up lens. On the right there a bulge probably where the focus limiter switch will be on the final lens. My guess is that this is the D-FA 120/4 Macro ED IF SDM....

They probably shoot planets, like the Deathstar did.

It's like a million subjects suddenly cried out in terror, and then were suddenly photographed.

I own a Pentax 645 120mm f/4 macro, with the images I have obtained from it I don't see anything wrong with it to justify a remake.
