Rumor of Pentax D FA 645 25mm f/4

There's a rumor about a new 645D wide angle lens:

Pentax D FA 645 25mm f/4 lens (medium format) to be announced soon | Photo Rumors

Finally, a new rumor!

Hope this hasn't been posted before.

It's not rumor. Ned Bunnell said about 25/4 on September, 2010.

The lens itself is not a rumor. The details listed on Photo Rumors are.

And then there is that photo...

Looks cool for me.

built-in hood lens
built-in filter holder
weather proof
some kind of a special coating/lens element
aperture range: f/4 – f/32
12 lens elements in 8 groups
minimum focusing distance will be less than 0.5m
internal focus
96° angle of view
25mm in medium format is actually very wide - aprox. 20 mm in 35mm equivalent.

NB: We did announce at Photokina (although it might have been lost in the noise with other releases) that in addition to the new D FA 645 55mm which is shipping now, we’ll ship a 25mm ƒ/4 lens early next year.

Well at the stand from Pentax at the Photokina they where talking about a 28mm lens coming for 645.

The coating is probably the aero bright coating that is also on the K-mount DA*55mm/f1.4 lens. New nano-coating. Or are they making a new coating again?

What kind of filters to put in to that sleeve?

What kind of filter? Mainly polarizer. The little wheel on the side of the drawer is used for turning the polarizer. There is an identical drawer on the 600/5,6 A*.

Hopefully. My main concern is that they didn't sacrifice edge and corner sharpness on the film 645 frame and concentrate entirely on the portion that the 645D sees. Though if I do get a 645D (in the far far future after I've saved up enough pennies), I'm not sure if I'll still stick with my 645N. If I don't, then the film frame edge sharpness would be irrelevant for me.

SDM??? (Slow Deteriorating Motor?) I hope they have improved the quality of their SDM Motors. I wouldn't want the same episode as what occurred with my 16-50 DA*

645 DFA55/2.8 SDM is rather fast for MF lens.
