Technically this is Officially True. Since the new cameras haven't been officially announced yet, if you look at an Official Roadmap of Products Planned for 2008, there will be nothing at all under "Pentax Camera Bodies".

But, it seems pretty likely that suddenly that spot will be filled on, oh, about, let's say, January 24th.

Hi, i'm new to the forum, but i think i have some interesting info.

I work at the photo department for one of the biggest electronics dealers in Europe, and last week i talked to Jaime Guillén of Reflecta, Spain's Pentax distributor. Of course, being a long time (LX, Z1-P, MZ-S and K10D) Pentax user, i asked him about the rumours, and he assured me the two new cameras will be announced in late January. Then, when i asked him about the leaked specs he smiled and said "...and much more". No more info, he's under a NDA too.

Regarding the DA* lenses, he told me the 60-250 was also scheduled for late January. And they're having a lot of problems to meet the high demand for the other DA* lenses.

BTW, the people who think Pentax is doomed and is going to be scrapped by Hoya, better think twice. We're selling Pentax like hot cookies. We are selling almost as many K100D's as Canon 400D's. And the best selling mid price camera is the K10D by a wide margin over the Nikon D80 or Olympus E510.

Yep, seems to be a bit the same here as well. Yesterday I had trouble getting a copy of K100D Super. The first retailer had none left and the second had only two left

See what you started Ben!! Rampant rumours and speculation all based on your announcement of an impending press conference and a few "bombs" Pentax would announce. Pretty incredible considering there are only about 4500 members here.

Just between us, after they do the press conference, start another thread that says something like "More is better, K20D super to be announced in March with 5 new DA*'s"

That should get about 1,000,000 views.

Sad thing is when most post a picture for viewing, only 60-150 people open the thread.
