Dear Ben,
I asked you in the past and you told me that pentax will have a new firmware for K20d (for faster autofocus). Do u know the exact time frame?

Since it was actually Ben that seems to have bumped this thread back up I wonder if he's trying to tell us something. The original post was made in reference to an upcoming announcement of 20D, Super-tele and other stuff. Is there something Ben would like to tell the forum? Some other January announcement for this year?

Well Ben, where is the announced 'Pro-grade' Pentax dSLR ?
Where is the long-tele ?

This thread was all about the K20D ? Which is a great camera, I have one by my self(after trying three before I found a good copy...) and I am happy with it right now. But I can't say it is a 'Pro-grade' Pentax dSLR, I can't say it is on par with the Autofocus speed and accuracy of the Nikon D300/D700/D3 AF systems, and also not the Canon 40/50D AF system(which is worse than the Nikon system). Can't say it is on par with the framerate of the Canon 40/50D and the Nikon D300 ? But the camera is nice and solid built, just like the good old K10D.

The coming year, 2009, will be then you're announced 'Pro-grade' Pentax dSLR introduced ?

Ben, since I already know about the January announcement, can you tell me what's next? You know, about that thing I promise not to tell anyone
(Now people will start thinking if I really know something. Or maybe not )

Maybe you should change your "name" to Hiddenite instead of Kunzite...
It would be more fitting...
KUNZITE, the pink variety of spodumene
Kunzite is the pink variety of spodumene and is one of two gemstone varieties. The other variety is green and is called Hiddenite. Kunzite is strongly pleochroic, meaning there is a color intensity variation when a crystal is viewed from the top or bottom then from other directions. The top and bottom of the crystal reveal the deepest colors and knowledgeable gem cutters take advantage of its effects. Due to kunzite's cleavage, splintery fracture and strong pleochroism it is considered a real gem cutters challenge. However, its lovely pink color makes kunzite an attractive and desirable gemstone.

Why green? Is there any meaning to this color?
Let me think...I know! You saw the green K-m prototype!
But I like the electric blue one better...

Btw, you can call me Alex if you don't like my nickname. I have some issues myself using 'Kunzite' after I found it's a pink stone, well, lesson learned - always look at the details even if they don't seems so important for the moment.
Too late to change it, though...

April? I wish... After we got a foot of snow and then some - Friday I had to shovel my way into my own driveway. Says a lot when you pack a snow shovel in the trunk of your car "just in case"
