It just figures... I bought a W90 last week!

Promises to be a nice one, though. Thoroughly impressed with the W90 underwater!

interesting that the screen on the rear is 16:9 - so if you like a more conventional aspect ratio (for cameras anyway), there must be black bars

I don't understand the point of putting 14 megapixels on these point and shoot cameras. Seems like it is too much for that size sensor. Otherwise, looks great.

I agree. 10MP gives you more than enough for a 8x10 print (or photobook page) at 300dpi. Not sure I'd be looking to an underwater p&s for poster-sized images....

The design screams "I will grip you and you can take me anywhere. And pockets are for wimps."

If it had the guts of an S95 I'd buy one yesterday. I have been underwhelmed by Pentax's IQ on their compacts.

just a thought...how much would it cost to replace the watertight seals and how is the actual battery life as well as cost of extra batteries?

a bit pathetic for the adventurer if out of batteries and no power. Supposing it does give 260 pics per battery, that isnt really a lot.

I don't know about battery life (it's not very good in the W80, I hope they have improved it). I own an almost 5 year old W10 which I let Pentax replace the seals in once 2 or 3 years ago. The service cost was around 1/6 of the original camera price, surprisingly low for this country which in general has astronomical service prices.

I've had my K7 out every day this year, not had an issue yet longest has been about 2 hours in -33 but the battery is holding up well, only charging it once every week or so

That's pretty impressive. Must be the weather sealing? I've seen digital SLR's wither in minutes in that kind of weather. Of course, even film cameras that can operate w/o a battery aren't much better because the film tends to crumble even with a very gentle turn of the lever...

(P.S. any pics to share?)
