An accessory most of us won`t really need? With the best marketing/sale-cliffhanger ever?

Maybe some sort of gimbal mount contraption, for automatically making the camera horizontal? But a quick googling shows something like it already exists, and anyway wouldn't be unique to the k-5/k7.

Well, here's the announcement of Yvon's new entrepreneurial venture: PENTAX DSLRs: What happens when three entrepreneurs get together? In our case, you get great DSLRs ancillary equipment and you get AlettA Photographic.

It doesn't say anything regarding products, just that they have industrial-grade machines and that they're gonna churn out quality, made in the US gear (perhaps taking an indirect shot at all the China-made accessories on eBay?).

No product announcement, though.

Yeah, I feel like this a is viral marketing/info leak/social networking #FAIL. I feel like they dropped too much info, too soon, and without enough end result to eventually satisfy.

Yeah starting to become bored with it now, it was exciting at first but now it seems like it has been hyped up too much and may become a disapointment in the end...

Pentax will be the first to get it. Something new is coming.

Please tell me it isn't a rash....or something worse......like a hickey.

Making so much noise when you don't have anything at all is indeed a FAIL.
Sorry, Yvon - but I don't care about companies who only produces hype. "DSLRs will never be the same..."? Yeah, right...

New hint: "Our first item could help Wedding Photographers". This gives it away. It is a grip with a reservoir for alcohol, such as Schnapps. Since you consume it with a straw, you can
  • drink while shooting, and
  • stay happy for a long time.
Since it is made in the USA -- does anyone else think Yvon puts way too few big USA flags on his pages? -- the grip is hidden in a brown paper bag. There are small openings for all the controls and of course the straw!

Your images won't be better, but you'll think they are!

I like this one. I'm also partial to my own idea. It's a new grip and every time you nail a shot the grip delivers a nice chocolate bon bon. Every time you totally blow the shot, the grip delivers a bit of a shock. The added bonus of this carrot and stick approach is that you'll be able to tell the good pentax photogs (slightly overweight) from the really bad ones (twitchy).

Social networking

So everyone knows that pentax shooters are rare compared with the canikon shooters. It's hard to find other Pentax shooters. To that end a new grip has been manufactured that has a small transceiver that broadcasts and receives a specific "pentax shooter" signal with a range of about .25 mi/.4 km. This way you will be able to find and meet up with other Pentax shooters.

NaCl(the rumor that there is a hack to sexually differentiate users is false however)H2O
