Another Pentax K-r Limited Edition: Rilakkuma

The latest limited edition offering from Pentax is the Rilakkuma Limited Edition K-r. Color is the two tone brown K-r of the Japanese cute little lazy bear: Rilakkuma. A limited run of 1000 copies.
The Rilakkuma K-r comes with a proprietary boot-up and shutdown Rilakkuma wallpaper. Pre-orders from 15 April. Price at around 95,000 Yen with Pentax’s 18-55mm DA L lens.

There have been some brilliant Kr and Kx colours but this isn't one of them. Though the little bear face on the prism housing is cute.

This will probably draw the ire of the bozos on Gizmodo, calling it fecal-brown or the "skid marks" edition.

Nevermind that it's a limited edition, that there are only 1000 produced. They never pick up on that fact (and yes, I make comments and leave things in the "tips" box, but it's all largely ignored). The K-5 beats the holy 5DmkII in dynamic range, but you wouldn't know it if you relied on Giz for your photo news.

If it's not the latest incremental megapixel bump on a consumer CaNikon, they don't want to know about it.

I find Engadget to be similarly caustic towards Pentax, although maybe not as harsh as Gizmodo. I think my wife would love this limited edition though

I'm a big fan of Rilakkuma (I have subscribed to the San-x page on Facebook) and I have the Rilakkuma app on my iPhone, but the camera looks kind of ugly compared to the character:

Of course, Rilakkuma inspired electronics is not new:
