I am firmly standing by my "standard P&S market is dead and just hasn't rotted away yet" opinion.

I could see a WG series for much larger versatility or the above mentioned MX-1 for build quality and style, but it baffles me that people bother with ordinary crappy plastic P&S cameras in the current market.
Go with either a camera phone or something that makes it worth actually carrying a camera I would say.

Weren't they turning the whole P&S market over to the Ricoh label side?

tiny 1/2.3" sensor zoom. Meh... For a decent small p&s i would go for a little Canon or Sony P&S Smaller than your phone (but not thinner). No huge zoom but extremely pocketable.

Since this is a very old thread I am sure the one who brought it up can find a much better choice than a camera from early 2011.

The MX1 sensor is not much larger.

Definitely would like to see a faster lens. Guess it depends on market Pentax is pursuing.
