Wild K-x design competition

This happened late last year, so apologies if it is old hat to some of you. But I just stumbled across it and haven't seen mention of it here before.

Last year Pentax sponsored a design project based around the K-x by students of the Joshibi University of Art and Design in Japan.

The results were pretty interesting. I look forward to Pentax incorporating some of these design ideas into future cameras.

Some of my favorite designs:

I like the giraffe one too. Guess it's got better use in taking pictures of herbivores in a safari XD

problem is, the lions might consider you lunch because of it =))

Well, there would be no better way to get action close-ups of lions. Of course retrieving the card afterwards might not be so pleasant

Don't quote me on this, but I think those are k-ms, not k-xs.

The 'elephant' camera is the only one in that set that (upon closer inspection of the rear button layout - eg the lack of a LV button and the different button for 'Delete') is actually a K-m. Ooops. My bad.

However most of the rest are clearly K-x's. Look through the pix of most of the cameras in that competition (they are there to see in the flickr link) and you can directly see the 'K-x' label on most of the bodies. Of course some of the cameras have all identifying details obscured, so one can't be 100% sure...
