Just to add more useless words to this thread:

naming suggestions:

KB: german for Kleinbild, small format = 35mm format)
FF: just imagine, you go in the shop and just order the Pentax FF - a legend before it even existed - Pentax FF, what else
K-LX: just for the reference, and it sounds cool

nuff said, happy waiting *duck and run*

Edit: blame it on the weather, it's also freezing cold with snowfall here in Vienna. Time to break the ice and bring some spring feelings, like a real camera announcement *wink to PRIC*

Well, the D7100 sensor that people are expecting for the K-3 has been dxomarked. It's not a big improvement compared to the K-5 II :

Worse, the D5200 has a (slightly) better score :

Yes, but the images will clean up much better on a higher MP sensor if all else is equal. Take the Canon 5D Original and the Sony A900. They have very similar noise curves, but the A900 produces a finer grain to the noise and a more appealing image.

The dxo scores are all about the same, however in terms of resolution or apparent resolution the K5-IIs is noticeably better than the D5200, and maybe slight better than the D7100. To me the K-5 IIs is tops, I am hopeful that the K-3 will beet all of the cameras, perhaps using a new sony sensor that we have not seen yet.

I was under the impression that on DxO, the 'overall score' results for noise, etc., were normalized to 8 MP. On the individual tabs you can choose between native resolution and normalized to 8 MP, of course.

Wait until you see the K3s.

I don't care much about the DXO, the difference is negligible, but that K-5 camera looks damn sexy and classy compared to Nikons (esp. D5200, ugh, yuck ..).

Ricoh has found another teenage mythophile to sign an NDA on the bankrupcy information, who has since leaked the information to Tesla.
I wonder who is going to be fooled on April fool's now with all that's still fresh on our minds from last year's prank...

Pentaxians are such easy marks for trolls announcing new cameras that don't exist. The forum gets rocking for days at a time after such rumours and they generally turn out to be a waste of precious time. I'll be ignoring any such reports in future as time is just too short. Pentax really should throw their loyal clients a bone every now and then to prevent such nonsense from becoming endemic in the community.
