If your picture is awesome it'll look awesome on any but the most insanely large prints..and even then. All this "high res is a necessity for large print" talk is out of control. It is not a necessity. Art viewers dont care. I've been in tons of photography exhibitions. The best photos are most of the times not the sharpest. In the end, it really doesnt matter. Subject matter
If the subject matter is not there, then I would not be printing large to begin with. Subject matter is a given or we would not waste the paper and ink.

I'm not saying you can't make great large prints with cheap kit lenses. I am saying that if you put images side by side you can see the difference. It is not always in detail. I have seen test shots between the Pentax 31mm LTD and the DA 35mm printed at only 8x10. By itself the DA 35mm looked good. When you put it next to the 31mm though you could see the difference from a standard viewing distance. The bigger you print the more obvious these differences are.

The FOV looks about the same (Nikon with 50mm lens and Pentax with 35mm lens). There is a difference in the magnification, the viewfinder is more "in your face" or closer to the eyepiece, where the K-7 viewfinder looks pushed further away from the eyepiece. If i try it with the FA 50/1.4 on the Pentax, the FOV is obviously smaller and the magnification is a lot bigger. Almost the same thing happens if I try the Pentax lenses on a Pentax film body.

How sure is this? Looks like features for a $1,800 body.

Well, it is, 1400 euros = $1800 (roughly)

1. I guess pure speculation from ogl here.
2. Today, nobody can sell an aps-c för $1800. Especially not Pentax.

Well the e1400 price was for the K-3 super without AA filter which could be up to e200 more than the standard model. Plus I wouldn't expect a straight conversion from euro to dollars if only because that price might include some degree of VAT (if it doesn't it will be really expensive in Europe).

To my mind a high price APS-C from Pentax unfortunately needs more than great base specs. It also needs some kind of USP that sets it apart - initially in the K line this was weathersealing. Something like implementing that electro-luminescent OVF overlay patent for example.

24mp, 6 fps, 21 point AF etc by itself is great for existing Pentax users but it needs more to compete with the next upper end APS-Cs from the other makers.

No. More like $14xx. Please add VAT to the conversion.

I believe in a K-3 without AA. They must add some more than just more pixels.

What do we know about this sensor?
How good is it, compared to the K5?

No, it's just an useless compilation of rumors; some details being obviously fake/made up. Since RH has no inside info, he would just parrot every good-looking rumor, but lacks any ability to distinguish the plausible ones.

Well, it will be interesting to see what "close to 100%" means on the RH-scale when all is over....

The thing that I find unlikely is that Pentax would bother to produce a K-3 camera in two versions - with and without an AA filter. It just seems like a waste of time and resources for the number of people who'd want it. A build to order 645D without an AA filter might be believable.

I would also be very surprised to see three APS-C DSLRs announced.

edit: I know that a FF camera is going to be a much bigger investment of R&D £s than an AA-less K-3 but to choose the latter over the former just seems odd.
