Now what if there is no K-300? What if it's K-30 >> K-5 II >> K-5 IIs >> K-3 (at CP+)? What is more plausible, a "No K-3" situation or a "No K-300" situation?

for me I'd vote the latter, because if the K-30 goes down in price to a notch above the entry-level competition (e.g. D3200 @ $500, K-30 @650) I guess that's good enough...

Expecting them to solve every gap while making a significant step forward (FF), in a single step (Photokina), is completely unrealistic and unreasonable.
???
FF existe for years now, surely they had time to think about

Until last October, their hands were tied.

6pm EDT is 11pm UK time. 6pm EST is 12am UK time.

But Photorumors could have made a confusion between EST (winter time on US east coast) and EDT (summer time).

Our expectations are for Pentax to act upon these new market conditions to aid their own survival. Expecting Pentax to have some sense of self-preservation is not unreasonably high.
This is the issue. When Nikon is sticking a 24 megapixel sensor in its D3200, unless there is some serious drawback to that sensor that I don't know about, then it makes sense to use that sensor and take advantage of it. Deciding to use 16 megapixel sensor in all of your cameras just makes you seem behind the opposition.

Looking at the DxOMark review, I'd rather have the K-5 sensor than the D3200 sensor.

DXOmark does not seem to respond (to me). Would you all please leave that site so I can compare the K-5 with the D3200 like everyone else is at this moment?

Thank you,

Geoffrey

PS: The above is what we call in my country a "joke".

Although the site is not, in fact, responding to me.

I knew a girl like that once .....

Obviously too much time allotted for lunch .....
