LOL I was referring to an entry level being at Photokina, but I think we will see a prototype of a FF with a spring target too.
I hope we see an MX styled evil FF with built in EVF.

LOL I would hope form an MX styled SLR with the MX's OVF myself. EVF still has a long way to go to equal that finder. Maybe an MX OVFfinder with a Fuji type overlay????

That would work. Finally got to play with an EM-5, and the EVf is not bad for casual shooting. I still have not been able to get my hands on the Fuji.

I've tried the nex 7 evf, and many of the others (fuji I tried the x100 not the pro yet), almost all i have tried in poor light. none have come close to a good OVF. In gright light they all work reasonably well, but still not up to OVF.

I would be more than happy with a top quality OVF that allowed for better MF with older lenses.

I've been mulling over this, and I'm wondering if Pentax will make the next flagship cropped sensor, then shove a FF in the K-01 replacement (or possibly a seperate camera entirely) when the time comes before then adding a flagship FF camera at that point.

It would make sense from a certain standpoint - it's probably too late to redesign the K-5 replacement after the Ricoh purchase, so why not make a FF camera in a cheaper 'get people interested' kind of package, THEN sell them on the FF once they have a chance to start producing/reproducing some full frame lenses again.

EDIT: Possibly the K-r replacement? Make that a FF using legacy K-30/K-5/K-r technology, then place the full frame in whatever replaces the K-03.

FF is always going to cost more than the equivalent APS-C. The people willing to pay that price premium will also want the camera to be premium in other ways. Although I think a FF mirrorless does make some sense, I can't see it being cheap or entry-level, nor do I see Pentax having two FF cameras (one mirrorless, one with a mirror) at the same time.

I also dont see them doing both variants. Only for the fact that it will be K mount and if your going FF everyone will wine if it doesnt have an OVF. Whats the point in killing the mirror if your going to alienate many potential buyers. The registration will fit a mirror... Put it there.

Personally im off the FF bandwagon. I could use a nice solid 28mm prime from Pentax thats updated. But i enjoy 77mm FOV on APS-C too much to have to go and find me a 85mm to get there with FF.

You'll need to find a 112.5 to get that FOV on FF , a 105 2.8 or120 2.8 would easily sub in for it if they made one. a 135 2.8 would be as close as you would find in AF
Getting the Pixie dust is another issue though
that being said the 77 produces some pretty amazing images on FF

No question about that FF awesomeness for the 77. I love shooting with my MX or K1000 and have that mounted up.

However when i do shoot film its usually with my M28 or Takamur 135 2.8. So maybe with FF and some manual focus practice i can be happy

Sent from my SGH-I727R using Tapatalk 2
and if we are lucky when the FF comes they will announce an update on the a* 135 1.8, or at least a 135 2.8 , and a proper 24 and 28 both of which are gaping holes even on apsc

Since I would like to have both a FF and an APS-C in my bag, I don't care as much about the focal lengths. Some lenses I will like better crop and others I will like better FF. As for the pixie dust FA limiteds...well, if the dust is that good on a sensor size they weren't design for then I can only imagine how awesome they will be on a FF. I think that is what makes me want FF most of all (and the low light performance, IQ, and well, I just want FF).

Buy your FA Limiteds now. If Pentax does release a FF, they (FA Limiteds) will sell new for a fortune and no one will want to part with their used ones...even if they don't release a FF model, you'll still have awsome lenses.

You see K30's rating 8.9. I think K-3 or K-"?" Will be about 9.7 or whatever. I hope!!!!!

Yeah... the problem with ratings, especially from people who are a fan of what they own (self-selection bias).

With the K-100 rating a 9.6... the K-5 has to be a 12 at a minimum.
